Five Videos to Watch This Week: From Climate Denial to Keen Electric Sportscar
Published August 11, 2009 @ 07:41PM PT
Okay, I know it's summer. But look away for just a few minutes from Darth Vader dancing to Hammer and Mean Kitty vs FlippyCat and check out this week's haul of nifty and informative videos about global warming:
1. Climate Denial Crock of the Week
Peter Sinclair's "Climate Denial Crock of the Week" is an ongoing and very enjoyable video series that debunks global warming myths. This installment, which mentions Anthony Watts of the prominent global warming denial blog wattsupwiththat.com, was temporarily taken down by YouTube after Mr. Watts complained it had violated some copyright rules.
2. Global Pulse: Climate Change Refugees
Compiled by linktv from ABC, U.S; Fox News, U.S; CNN Lou Dobbs, U.S; Al Jazeera English, Qatar; South Asia Newsline, India; TV5, France, this report looks at how climactic changes to the environment are creating a massive wave of global refugees, and the help they need.
3. Food Security and Climate Change
In this lengthy (about one hour and forty minute) but worthwhile video, journalist Mark Hertsgaard argues that the best solution to quickly and inexpensively mitigating climate change are agricultural practices that increase the natural process of photosynthesis. Author Ross Gelbspan moderates; Ecoagriculture Partners founder Sara J. Scherr, an agricultural and natural resource economist who specializes in tropical ecosystems, is also on the panel.
4. ICT and Climate Change
From this year's World Economic Forum at Davos: How information and communications technologies can contribute to global warming solutions.
5. Test Driving the Tesla Roadster
Steven Greenstreet at America.gov, the video channel of the U.S. State Department, test-drives a Tesla Roadster, perhaps the sexiest, most powerful, fully electric car on the market. (Hat tip to tcktcktck)

Q: Why is there no "Climate Alarmist Crock of the Week"?
A: Because Deniers have a hard time lying, Alarmists don't
There is a site touting the ways to talk to GW deniers. It's a site, and a construction, it's a well orgianzed rhetorical piece that does the hand holding for would be alarmists that don't have the brain cells to do their own interpretation. The facts are quite twisted and so the message, the Alarmist pablum message, must be spood fed to the alarmists to regurgitate on the deniers shoes. No wonder we're always sick if the alarmists. Most of what comes out of them is vomitous pablum.
