End Homelessness

Whether it's making short runs to the bank, the store, and all around town, or going all the way to work and home every day, no one can deny that car emissions add up in a big way.
Help curtail global warming by pledging to use your feet for one regular trip a week. Either walk or ride your bike. If it's too far, take public transportation when you normally would not.
Pledge to walk, bike, or ride one day a week.
This is an ongoing pledge that should be fulfilled as often as possible.

Pledge fulfilled about 18 hours ago!
I love the feeling of walking 4 miles to the grocery store, or riding my scooter to starbucks. It's great to know that you're not only getting exercise, but that your helping out the planet. I'm not going to think of this as just a pledge completed, but as a lifestyle I plan on keeping. I'm going to continue walking instead of getting by places by car or bus, whenever I can :)

We believe that riding bikes and being a 'locavore' are some of the simplist, most direct forms of environmental and social activism.
Great cause, but I challenge folks to ride to work everyday. Live near your workplace, and minimize your impact living the viva local!

My husband and I have turned our weekly trip downtown to a bike-riding extravaganza! We ride the 5 1/2 miles into town, then stop and have breakfast. When the Farmer's Market is open, we walk around and get some fresh veggies for the week.
Many times we take our dogs. I converted a kiddie bike trailer into a doggie trailer. It adds almost 70 pounds (with the dogs in it), but it's worth it to be able to take them around town. Another 5 1/2 miles back to the house, and we can call it a good day.
Sometimes I just walk or bike to the grocery store down the street (it's just a little over a mile), fill up my reusable grocery bags, and head home.
